Licensed Building Practitioner

Gordon Brodie of Allied Exteriors is the first Auckland-based Licensed Building Practitioner for External Plastering.

External Plastering is one of the 6 critical building trades under the new Department of Building and Housing LBP regime. From March 2011, only contractors with the LPB status will be allowed to sign-off work falling under one of the critical trades.

Any person getting work done that falls under one of the 'critical trades' (including external plastering and cladding work) should check the LBP register online to ensure they are using a registered LBP.

Councils will only accept Producer Statements from LBP's and that paperwork is a prerequisite to obtaining a Code Compliance Certificate for building work classified as a 'critical trade'.
